Professionals Australia · AI at Work campaign
AI at work could go two ways
The worst
Lost jobs. More surveillance. Big decisions made by systems no one answers for.
The best
Better work, with people in charge and a fair share of the time it saves. That includes a four-day week on the same pay.
The difference is whether we have a say.
Professionals Australia is the union for STEM workers. We're bringing people together to stop the worst uses of AI and fight for the best. Don't leave your future to tech bros and billionaires, join your union and decide the rules.
What we're fighting for
Stop the worst.
Protect jobs. Push back on surveillance. Make sure a person is responsible for decisions that affect people at work.
Win the best.
Use AI to make work better, not just cheaper. Keep people in charge. Share the gains through less work for the same pay.
We can't leave decisions to billionaires and big tech. Power comes from people joining, speaking up and acting together.
Help shape the campaign
If you know the tech, we need you
If you build AI, use it or lead teams putting it to work, you know where it helps and where it fails.
PA members can use that knowledge to identify good and bad uses, help write rules that work and give the wider union movement a stronger voice. You don't need to have every answer. You do need to be in the conversation.

Don't leave AI's future to big tech
Decisions about our working lives are being made right now
While the debate goes back and forth about whether AI is good or bad, decisions about our working lives are being made. We have a short window to shape them, not leave them to big tech and billionaires.
The public needs to hear from the professionals who build, deploy and understand this technology. Together, Professionals Australia members can be a trusted voice: cutting through the hype, calling out the risks and showing how AI can genuinely improve work and people's lives.

AI won't decide the future of work on its own. Organised professionals will.
